Page 4: It was more than 31 years ago
that Jenny and Mark first met. At that
time, they had no way of knowing what the future had in store
for them. In the years to come, there would be laughter and
tears, triumphs and trials, successes and failures, and joys and
sorrows. But in those early days as they learned to love and
respect one another, little did they know that this was the
start of something special!
Page 5: Time passed and that love and respect deepened. Then, on
June 22, 1968, Jenny and Mark were
married at First Methodist Church.
Page 6: Many memories of that wedding day are still vivid: the
special people who were present for the occasion; the last
minute details that still needed attention; the plans that
didn't quite happen as planned! But of all the memories of that
day, the most important are those of the ceremony itself, when Jenny
and Mark stood together, exchanged their solemn vows, and
were pronounced husband and wife.
Page 7:
Their marriage began with a honeymoon in
Hawaii. This was a time to privately
share their hopes and dreams for the
future. From the moment they moved into
their first home, at 1234 Ashland Road,
they shared, as husband and wife, in all
that life had to offer. And, to this
day, there are times when fond memories
of that first home come to mind.
Page 8:
As they knew it would, life brought many
changes for Jenny and Mark: many
surprises, many challenges, many
unexpected turns in the road. But
nothing altered everything quite as much
as the arrival of Anthony, Matthew and
Sharon! Through many special experiences
that only parents understand, Jenny and
Mark found their love for one another
growing deep and strong. And now they
are grandparents to Ricky, Donald,
Darrel, Mary and Maggie, and
great-grandparents to Tammy, Laurie and
Hunter!
Page 9:
Season followed season and year followed
year. It's the good times, the joyful
times, the times of laughter and fun
that they like to remember. And for
Jenny and Mark, there were many of
those. But it's the difficulties that
have tested and proven the strength and
depth of Jenny and Marcus' love.
Page 10:
Now, June 22, 1999, Jenny and Mark are
celebrating 31 years of marriage,
another milestone in their journey
together. A wedding anniversary is a
time for celebration. There is much to
rejoice in. There is much to be thankful
for. There are many fond memories to
treasure. But a wedding anniversary is a
time for reflection as well. It is a
time to remember that a marriage is
built on love and trust, and that,
without these qualities, it cannot
endure.
Page 11:
On this special anniversary, Jenny and
Mark were pleased to have friends and
family celebrate the day with them. Some
would come to visit; others would call.
Still others would be there in thought
alone. There were many who made this day
extra special.

Page 4: There was Antony and Cleopatra.
There was Romeo and Juliet.
There was Napoleon and Josephine.
And then . . .
Page 5: It has been more than 31 years
since they met. Mark was bold, fit and
handsome, a refined gentleman of noble
birth, sterling character and manly
demeanor. Jenny was lovely, gentle and
beautiful, a spirited woman of artistic
sensitivity and rare intellectual depth.
What an interesting difference 31 years
can make!
Page 6: Some say it was love at first sight. When Mark first set
eyes on Jenny, he walked boldly up to
her and gazed lovingly into her
mysteriously beautiful eyes. "This could
be the start of something wonderful," he
whispered.
"I'll let you know," Jenny responded.
Page 7:
Days and weeks and months flew by as
their unique love deepened profoundly.
And then at last, on {WDate}, Mark and
Jenny were married.
It has been remembered as the wedding of
the year, the cultural event of the
decade, and as a pretty good free meal.
People came from far and wide to witness
the wedding of Jenny and Mark. The crowd
of earnest onlookers was unlike anything
ever seen at First Methodist Church.
Page 8:
Then came the glorious, long-awaited
honeymoon. It was an agonizing decision
for Jenny and Mark. A remote island
paradise in Polynesia? A chateau in the
south of France? A penthouse suite in
New York?
Nothing seemed quite right, until their
extensive search led them to the
discovery of the ideal place: in Hawaii.
Page 9:
On returning from their honeymoon, Jenny
and Mark instructed the chauffer to
drive to 1234 Ashland Road. "Our dream
home!" beamed Mark with understandable
pride.
"I didn't know they made dream homes
quite like this," Jenny replied.
"Let me carry you over the threshold, my
darling!" Mark exclaimed as he swept
Jenny into his arms.
"Try not to crack my head on the door
frame," pleaded Jenny.
Page 10:
Their life and love went on: month
followed month and season followed
season. And then into their lives came
their hearts' pride and joy: Anthony,
Matthew and Sharon. "Oh, how our lives
have been enriched!" exclaimed Mark.
"Have you seen the grocery bills
lately?" asked Jenny. In time, Ricky,
Donald, Darrel, Mary and Maggie joined
the family. Then Tammy, Laurie and
Hunter came along.
Page 11:
At last, Mark and Jenny celebrated the
anniversary of 31 years of marriage.
Again, people traveled from all over the
civilized world to join in the
celebration. Dignitaries and celebrities
of every sort were on hand. Everyone
joined in the tribute to the special
couple.
